Makeup Review: Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow

Hello everyone! My first product review!! Yay! Ok on with it then ;) I dont think anyone could have missed these at Sephora or any other store that sells Stilla products... a bit hard to miss I must say! I have two colours to review of this; Vintage Black Gold & Metalic Cobalt. Ooooo the name alone reeled me in ;)

Now this eyeshadow comes with a small bottle of "stay all day liquid primer" and a small metal pan to mix the concoction. When I came upon this in Sephora I tried this without the primer, it had good pigmentation & has a nice sparkly shimmer... and I must say you dont have to use the primer. However if you want the very intense metallic effect for a night out, a special day etc then go for it & follow directions as set out on package. I found this could be used dry very well, if you have oily or combination skin use an eye primer that will keep it in place with all the sparkles. For me a south asian, having a beige undertone with several shades of lets say mocha? lol;) this worked & looked beautiful on me. To remove you will need a good makeup remover, this does leave shimmer on the skin.

If you are going to use this dry on top of a eyeshadow primer, you can use a eyeshadow brush, if you want further pigmentation and sparkle but using it dry, try patting it on with a flatbrush. If you want to use it wet as recommended on package, then use your fingers or a synthetic flat brush to pat it on.

Stilla Magnificent Metals Foil Eyeshadow in "Vintage Black Gold" & "Metallic Cobalt"

Although usually store personnel use 3 undertones to describe; pink, yellow & beige (also called neutral tone). I think theres makeup with more orange undertone for those with deeper skin tone, I also think theres olive...which I think is an in between of having some yellow undertone & beige. Everyone undertone comes in various strengths, so always swatch everything & come to your own personal decision of what looks good on your undertone & skintone.

If you have a pink undertone I'd recommend staying away from the pink colored ones and the lavender one so you wont highlight your pink undertone unless you are using color correcting skincare or face makeup, then go ahead swatch these & see what you think.

If you have a yellow or more orange undertone, I'd avoid the more yellow or orange based colours   Again if you are using color correcting skincare or face makeup, then go ahead swatch these & see what you think.

People with beige undertones... lucky you, having this undertone is quite neutral so you can wear whichever color you like.

These come in several shades as follows;
"Comex Platinum" - chrome silver sheen
"Titanium" - gunmetal grey sheen
"Kitten"- nude pink sheen
"Metallic Dusty Rose" - rosy pink sheen
"Metallic Lavender"- light lavender purple sheen
"Metallic Violet" - violet shimmer
"Metallic Laurel" - melon green sheen
"Metallic Emerald" - emerald green sheen
"Metallic Cobalt" - cobalt/denim blue sheen
"Vintage Black Gold" - light black with pearly gold sheen
"Metallic Gilded Gold" - golden bronze luster
"Comex Gold" - orange gold sheen
"Comex Copper" - brownish copper sheen
"Metallic Merlot"- deep wine sheen

I think this is a great product, it has good pigment & very nice shimmer. I think this is one for every woman's makeup kit, for the days to go Va-Va-Voom!! :)

You can purchase these for $42.00 CAD or $32.00 USD on www.sephora.ca , www.sephora.com  or www.stila.com

Enjoy!! and let me know what your thoughts were & if you have any further questions feel free to comment or email me!
